Sound installation at Rock Bar, Bali

Sound installation at Rock Bar, Bali

Known as “Bali’s Most Popular Sunset Bar,” Rock Bar Bali is not just a bar, it’s a complete sensory experience. Renowned for the mastery of its bartenders, this iconic spot will captivate you with magical sunsets, vibrant music and an electrifying atmosphere.

Located at the AYANA Resort and Spa, Rock Bar Bali is perched on a 14m limestone cliff, offering a 180-degree panoramic view. Imagine the waves crashing against the rocks, the radiant sun about to dip into the Indian Ocean and Jimbaran Bay bathed in a golden light. A natural light show that will take your breath away.

This unique space is characterized by a minimalist design that seamlessly integrates an open platform into the natural formation itself. The ambient lighting of the bar, together with the sunset curtains and traditional lanterns of the fishing boats that dot the horizon, create a unique and unrepeatable atmosphere.

The combination of exclusive cocktails, exceptional views and an electrifying atmosphere created by its resident DJ and an occasional programming of world-class international artists, make this bar one of the best in the world in its category.

MONDO-DR.

The distributor Melodia, together with its partner AV Sontastic, were the companies in charge of ensuring the correct distribution and calibration of the sound throughout the area using the most suitable coatings. The installation was a challenge given the exceptional conditions of the open-air site, extended along the edge of a cliff 14 metres above sea level.

Given the particularities of the installation, Melodia and Sontastic decided to install all sound systems in a weatherproof version, an option offered by Lynx Pro Audio for extreme installations of this type, where venues need special protection designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, such as sunlight, salt and water.

Eight WCX-8 compact speakers have been installed along the bar, a versatile and modular two-way coaxial enclosure designed for outdoor applications. It has an 8″ coaxial speaker offering a 70º conical dispersion coverage and a power of 300 W AES. As reinforcement for different areas, 7 two-way HR-1596/7 enclosures have been installed, a full-range system with a power of 700 W AES. It has a wide coverage of 90×60º and a passive/bi-amplified selector, mounting a 15″ speaker together with a 1.4″ driver and a rotatable horn that allows you to choose the most suitable coverage angle according to the installation.

To reinforce the low frequencies, three HR-218/12 high-performance passive subwoofers have been installed, with two 18″ speakers in direct radiation low-reflex configuration.

With omnidirectional coverage and 1200W AES power, the weatherproof products have specific features for greater outdoor durability and to withstand harsher weather conditions: anodized aluminum logo for better durability, stainless steel grill also available in aluminum with protective coating and micro-textured paint, weather tape edges, acustex filter to prevent water and external elements from penetrating, 35 ppi acoustic foam to prevent dust particles from affecting internal components, waterproof cone protected on both sides, aluminum back plate with pressure gland for extra tight connection and stainless steel screws.

To amplify the sound, five Lynx Pro Audio TS series amplifiers have been installed on the south and north sides of the venue. These are high performance 4 channel mid/high power power amplifiers dedicated to the installation market capable of meeting the requirements of any installation from 300 to 2500W. Sontastic said: “A well designed audio system should cater to a variety of musical preferences.

Rock Bar Bali, nominated as one of the best hotel bars in the world, it is distinguished by its exclusivity and exceptional atmosphere, positioning it as an incomparable oasis.

Sound revamped at the Valencia Oceanographic aquarium with CXA-12 for outdoors

Sound revamped at the Valencia Oceanographic aquarium with CXA-12 for outdoors

Oceanogràfic, the biggest aquarium of Europe, has recently renewed its sound equipment in the dolphinarium area, trusting once again in Lynx Pro Audio. 15 outdoor passive CXA-12 enclosures have been set up in the venue, supplied by Neec Iberia, the official distributor of the brand in Spain and Portugal.

Until now, this dolphinarium had a set-up of Ionic-100 column speakers distributed around the pool, in front of the stands, to improve vocal clarity; while several DRN-12 subwoofers were flown to reinforce the low frequencies.

From now on, 15 units of passive CXA-12 speakers suitable for outdoor use will be covering the sound of the dolphinarium, next to the columns of the stands. The CXA-12 is a constant curvature line array, designed to make basic multipurpose line array configurations, with a maximum of four cabinets.

These 15 cabinets have been distributed in 3 points with three cabinets in array configuration and another 3 points with two cabinets, with the aim of covering the extensive stands with clarity and power, so that both the explanations of the monitors and the music can be heard clearly in each performance.

Each CXA-12 enclosure is amplified with a total of 1400 W Class D and switching power supply, with a PFC system and DSP processor with linear phase FIR filters.

For the amplification of the cabinets, 3 XT-10K amplifiers (4-channel stage for installation with 4 x 25000W of power, 64-bit DSP and Networking AES67 connectivity option), a RS4-3000 amplifier (4-channel stage with power up to 500 W per channel and connectivity through 4 balanced XLR inputs) and a RS4-4000 amplifier (4-channel amplifier with power up to 1000 W per channel and connectivity through 4 balanced XLR inputs) have been set up.

Finally, ARK digital processors have been implemented, specifically an ARK-2026 (2 inputs and 6 outputs) and an ARK-7048 (with Ethernet, 4 inputs and 8 outputs) designed to offer intuitive and easy-to-use access for users.

Baptist church sound reinforcement upgraded in Nordhorn, Germany

Baptist church sound reinforcement upgraded in Nordhorn, Germany

The Baptistenkirche Nordhorn, as its German name suggests, is a Baptist church located in Nordhorn, Germany. Tom Fuhrmann, Pro Audio consultant in Pan-pro GmbH, has been in charge of the church sound reinforcement.

Baptistenkirche Nordhorn is a religious community that aims to help others to know Jesus, to be inspired by him and to increase their faith in him. It is a community committed to the well-being of the people of its city.

The church needed to upgrade its sound systems for a clear voice reproduction and the installer decided to set up IONIC column speakers, which are designed for reverberant installations such as houses of worship. These column speakers are lightweighted, providing easy set ups in fixed installations.

The installer chose the following set-up:  3 x IONIC 100 for main area, 7 x IONIC 50 for senior space and under balcony, 1 x IONIC 18S all feeded by Yamaha MTX5D and RS4-4000 amplifiers.

Tom Fuhrmann stated: “It has been found that the IONIC series from Lynx Pro Audio delivers excellent results, specially in acoustically demanding rooms. Significantly improved speech intelligibility and a balanced sound image were decisive for the customer’s satisfaction.

In white colour, these cabinets are a low profile, discreet column, melting in the church’s white environment. Fuhrmann stated that the customers “are happy with installation”.

In the main area we find 3 Ionic-100 passive column speakers. The Ionic-100 uses 12 x 3″ (0.75″ voice coil) neodymium transducers offering a coverage of 15º +/-5º V x 100º H and 121dB SPL.

For senior space and under balcony we find 7 Ionic-50 passive column speakers. The Ionic-50 is a compact column speaker with 6 x 3” (0.75” voice coil) neodymium transducers offering a coverage of 15º +/-5º V x 100º H and 119dB SPL.

As low frequency reinforcement, we find the powered subwoofer Ionic-18S. This subwoofer uses 1 x 18” (3” voice coil) neodymium transducers with 132 dB SPL.

The installation was feeded by an RS4-4000 amplifier, designed for professionals who demand quality, reliability and value.

The Ionic series are available in a variety of colours/finishes by request, in this case, white RAL colour. As standard the full-range cabinets are finished in anti-rust steel and the subs in rugged, premium birch plywood, coated with polyurea paint. All are protected by front steel grills and backed with a special triple layer, acoustic textile which allows greater air flow and reduces heat and humidity.

Bali club Mrs Sippy main stage revamped with DS-12 clubbing systems

Bali club Mrs Sippy main stage revamped with DS-12 clubbing systems

Mrs Sippy, a trendy party venue on the island of Bali, has decided to do an image renovation and update its main stage with Lynx Pro Audio sound systems for nightclubs: the DS-12 enclosures.

Host to the island’s biggest saltwater swimming pool with 1, 3 and 5 meter diving platforms, good times are encouraged through their entertainment calendar of international DJ’s spinning tropical island vibes until late every day.

Sontastic, a premier AV installer specialising in integrating systems for beach clubs, restaurantes and hospitality business, has been in charge of the renewal of Mrs. Sippy’s main stage. They have decided to acquire Lynx Pro Audio’s special clubbing systems, supported by Melodia, official distributor in Indonesia.

Ian Johansson, Sontastic’s director, stated: “Sontastic have been using DS-12 for four years now, and we are very happy with this speakers. It has the emotion of a classic club speaker but is more smooth and versatile. When paired with the right amplifier, the DS-12 plays absolutely fantastic! We are getting a lot of compliments for this setup and very happy with the Lynx.”

Lynx Pro Audio’s DS systems were required for the upgraded main stage that has been set up near the pool, where parties are organised everyday and international DJs come to play on weekends. The stage set up cointains 3 DS-12 cabinets on each side of the stage for a powerful result.

These sound systems are available in any colour and finish needed, since they are not designed to not only be pleasing to the ear but also to the eye.

The horn loaded, high power DS-12 clubbing systems are ideal for these installations since they were primarily designed for giving an extra boost in nightclubs and discos. The cabinet is bi-amplified and can also be manufactured as a self-powered version to deliver all the features such as FIR that Lynx Pro audio electronics deliver.

It uses an exponential 12” Driver (64mm aluminium voice coil) for the low/mid and the high frequencies are looked after by a 1.4” neodymium compression driver with titanium diaphragm and mylar surround. The special GFK/Sandwich horn delivers 60º x 40º coverage.

Mrs Sippy Bali is the latest holiday hotspot, a melting pot for locals and international travellers who occupy the abundance of day beds while sipping expertly shaken cocktails.

SLVJ, an exotic restaurant inside the 5-star “Only You” hotel

SLVJ, an exotic restaurant inside the 5-star “Only You” hotel

SLVJ (Salvaje) is a trendy restaurant, located in the lobby of the five-star “Only You” hotel in the centre of Valencia. The venue is divided in two floors: a ground floor where parties are organised and the upper floor with the main room and an interior terrace.

This restaurant is based on three premises: a wild gastronomic proposal, a professional cocktail bar and a place where music and atmosphere combine. At SLVJ you don’t just go to eat, you go to have fun.

On the ground floor, the club area, is where customers can have free rein to their wildest side. The party is guaranteed with a luxurious atmosphere; with waiters, dancers and a DJ in the booth to liven up the service and create a party atmosphere. At SLVJ the music takes centre stage as the evening progresses and the cocktails begin to work their magic.

SLVJ is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering an unforgettable experience in terms of sound and lighting. On the covered terrace, you can enjoy breathtaking views, while in the main room you can enjoy exotic flavours surrounded by lush décor. It is the perfect venue for exclusive events.

Blaky Group were chosen for the sound installation of this venue. They had to make a different installation for each space. For the indoor terrace they used Juno JN-8T loudspeakers, which have an ideal power for this type of installation and an elegant design that does not clash with the decoration of the venue.

For the main room, HR-26 passive loudspeakers have been installed, as they offer an excellent power-to-size ratio. They are easy to install on the wall thanks to dedicated accessories and offer selectable bi-amp or passive operation.

As low frequency reinforcement, a BS-112 subwoofer has been installed, a compact subwoofer enclosure with 12″ speaker (3″ voice coil) in bandpass configuration reaching 126 db SPL.

On the ground floor, which is the disco area, 12 HR-26s have been installed to ensure coverage of the whole area and an HR-18/10 subwoofer as low frequency reinforcement in the DJ booth. The HR-18/10 are subwoofers with one 18” low frequency in bass reflex, direct radiation configuration, which reach up to 135 dB SPL.

SLVJ is committed to fusion cuisine, showing a more casual side of Japanese gastronomy, using robata, a Japanese grill. In Valencia, the chef in charge of preparing the dishes is Fermín Azkue.

The cocktails have been designed by Borja Goikoetxea, the best bartender in Spain in 2019 by the World Class Competition, and who has worked in top-level venues. His proposal includes reinvented classics and several cocktails of his own creation.

In charge of the décor is the prestigious interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who makes extensive use of bright colours evoking certain parts of Africa and Asia to bring the SLVJ concept to life, highlighting the use of monkey figures in the main room or a giant rhinoceros presiding over the party area.

The SLVJ group has establishments in Panama, Bogota, Madrid, Miami and Barcelona, and continues to expand around the world.
