The most recent version of Lynx Pro Audio’s prediction tool, Rainbow Software is now available. The new Version includes the ADP-12 and ADP-12M as well as new & more precise polar measurements for other models.

Developed in-house and continuously improved with feedback from our very active user base, it allows for powerful modelling of simple or complex systems. Anything from a single speaker to full-blown live-sound configuration with mains, fills and delays. Since there is virtually no limit in the number of sources used, large distributed systems for installations can be modelled as well.

High resolution speaker polar data with magnitude and phase information allow accurate modelling down to 30 Hz, enabling predictions of user-designed subwoofer arrays such as cardioid or end-fire arrangements.

Radiation behaviour is particularly critical for the accurate modelling of cardioid system design, so bass cabinets use real measurements across all frequencies. Unfortunately, that requires impractical far-field analysis but it needs to be done.

An innovative feature of Rainbow is a virtual DSP that allows extensive processing of any of the sources. The resulting settings can then be exported for use in Lynx’s range of outboard digital processors. That means we can fine tune the systems in the comfort of the office while sipping our favourite coffee, without the stress of system set-up. Conversely, settings can be imported from a Lynx processor into Rainbow.
