Gutenberg: a 360-degree show in Montevideo
On November 24, ‘Gutenberg’ premiered at Antel Arena in Montevideo (Uruguay), a 360-degree show and the most ambitious of the season, celebrating 100 years of the newspaper “El País”. Gutenberg is a show that makes a journey from the use of printing to the digital era. The show tells a story around the figure of Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing, to this day.
The design consists of giant goblin which simultaneously acts as a screen moving the viewer from the 15th century to the present day.
The show also has side stages, giants, acrobatics, mapping, live music, classical and contemporary dance … All these elements merge to create a 360-degree show that tells the beginning of a new era in the history of humankind thanks to the invention of the printing press, a fact that changed the world forever.
Ganzúa Producciones has been in charge of providing the audio from what can be called the event of the year in Uruguay. To equip the entire stadium and ensure that the acoustics were perfect it has been used powerful line arrays from Lynx Pro Audio, specifically LX series: LX-V12, LX-V8, LX-218S and LX-318C.
LX-V12 cabinets are extremely high power, self-powered Class D with PFC (Power Factor Correction), three-way line array. Dual LF 12” (4” interleaved sandwich voice coil) neodymium woofers with double demodulating rings, Four MF 6.5” transducers with glass fiber cones & ultra-light voice coil and two HF 1.4” neodymium magnet drivers with titanium diaphragm and individual high precision wave guide. It has DSP (FIR technology) controlled with 4000W amplification, 143dB SPL, built-in inclinometer.
The LX-V8 cabinets are compact self-powered (Class D switch mode power supply) V-Configuration front loaded, two-way line array, dual 8″ neodymium transducers with nomex cones and two 1″ neodymium magnet drivers with titanium diaphragm and individual wave guide, DSP (FIR technology) controlled with 1500W amplification, 134db SPL, built-in inclinometer.
On the other hand, the LX-218S and LX-318C are the subwoofers of this family. LX-218S is a high power, self-powered (Class D switch mode power supply) front loaded sub-bass cabinet with two 18″ (4″ voice coil) low frequency neodymium transducers. LX-318C cabinet is an extremely high power cardioid subwoofer, self-powered (Class D switch mode power supply). Consists of three 18″ (5″ voice coil) low frequency neodymium transducers with Double Silicon Spider (DSS) technology and reinforced cones with carbon fiber (2 frontal + 1 rear).
